my 2025 vision board
Pursuing my vision board by writing about my vision board.
As with any good “New Year, New Me” January, I have been binging productivity and goal-setting vlogs by some iconic YouTube girlies. I particularly enjoy lucia cordaro’s vlogs about being a corporate girlie in NYC, her january monthly RESET vlog stood out when she showed off a Notion template created by alexis eldridge. The template includes a space for a yearly vision board that can be used as a phone lock screen as a daily reminder. So I set off to create my own vision board with nothing but a messy notes app entry full of goals I wrote late on New Year's Eve.
Last year I actually achieved quite a few of my goals, though they were only written in my Hinge profile and tracked in a notes app checklist. After moving to NYC at the end of 2023, I had quite an ambitious list to get through. Most notably, I joined a queer volleyball league and completed my yoga teacher training. I also updated my portfolio site, DJ’ed once, and read a book. With this raging success of a year, I have a lot to live up to going into 2025.
So behold, my gorgeous 2025 vision board (pictured above) which I’m quite honestly obsessed with. My phone lock screen previously rotated pictures of my favorite artist, Arca, but now I’m confronted with the visceral urge to overachieve every time I look at my phone. I created this board by starting with a Pinterest board and then picking my favorite images to format into a collage using Figma. I threw over a color filter and grain texture, and boom, my vision was now realized.
An upward view of Manhattan skyscrapers anchors the imagery together, a view I hope to embrace as I stroll through the city to work, learn, and play. The symmetry of the layout reflects the work-life balance I aspire to achieve. My passions are on full display between the volleyball court and the yoga pose I hope to master. A laurel wreath to empower my strength and an ancient statue to seek new knowledge. Green next to green, for health and wealth. Romance and waves upon ripples to plunge toward my past.
My favorite trip with besties last year and the age-old reminder to CALL YOUR MOM. An office siren, twigs, for my anticipated album of the year. And lastly, most importantly, two cats slapping a computer screen because I’m a freaking epic gamer.
So here I am, posting my first blog article, to kick off these visions by giving myself a new outlet to express myself creatively and document my life in writing. I guess I can start by checking that off the list.
